This July, Taste Cambridge, Tune in to Somerville’s Beats & Venture out to the MFA
I know you’ve had a rainy weekend, but don’t give up on July. The city offers a wonderful selection of events this month and you should venture out and immerse yourself in those delightful experiences. Here is a curated list, by yours truly.
Ready to try out the delicious foods of Cambridge? Join the local community for the 14th annual Taste of Cambridge and enjoy samples from some of the most recognized restaurants in the area, including Alden and Harlow, Veggie Galaxy, Dosa Factory, Grafton Street, and more. The photos don’t like. This event will be worth it.
If you missed Somerville Porchfest this year, don’t worry (too much). You will have another chance to sway to the fun tunes of the city, at the local arts festival ArtBeat 2016. Come by to immerse yourself in latin music, contemporary dance performances, hard rock sets, and even a puppet show. And the beat goes on!
Have you ever done yoga outside, in the courtyard of a beautiful museum, while listening to live music? I’d assume not yet. But it’s something you can experience in July. Acclaimed yoga instructor and author Sara DiVello will teach a class at the MFA’s Calderwood Courtyard. The tunes will be by Animal Hospital, which you can check out in advance here (it’s very relaxing). Keep calm and say ommmm.
Like comedy? Want to experience it at new places? Then stop by Aeronaut Brewing Company at the end of the month for free stand-up, brought to you by The Sky. The Sky features Boston comedians performing stand-up, improv, sketch, and musical comedy, so you will be in for a treat. Also, delicious beers and fun games are always available at Aeronaut. You can’t go wrong with this choice.
